BET Awards show honors Busta Rhymes, hip-hop’s 50 years and pays tribute to Takeoff and Tina Turner

LOS ANGELES (AP) — The 2023 BET Grants celebrated 50 years of hip-jump with recognitions for the class’ earliest voices, late legends, and new ability during a show loaded with fantastic exhibitions that reliably felt like a party.

Capri turned a portion of Tupac’s “Hail Wed” to prod a compressed lesson on West Coast rap: Warren G’s “Direct,” Yo’s “You Can’t Play With My Yo,” Tyga’s “Rack City”, and E-40’s “Let me know When To Go.”
