China says that it hasn’t banned the iPhone.

(Qnnflash) — According to a spokesman from the Chinese government, there have been no official laws or regulations implemented in China to prohibit the utilization of iPhones or any other foreign mobile phone brands. This statement was made on Wednesday.

During a news conference held in Beijing, Mao Ning, the spokeswoman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, expressed the longstanding receptiveness of China towards foreign enterprises and their potential to capitalize on the opportunities presented by China’s economic growth.

The individual further stated that China has taken note of numerous media accounts regarding security incidents using Apple’s iPhone. Additionally, the country emphasizes the significance of information and cyber security.

Mao’s explanation was not sufficiently detailed. Furthermore, she emphasized the need for international cellular firms operating in China to adhere to the nation’s privacy rules and take necessary measures to safeguard against unauthorized access or data breaches that may compromise the information held on their customers’ devices.

According to undisclosed sources knowledgeable about the situation, The Wall Street Journal recently published an article stating that the Chinese government has implemented a prohibition on the utilization of iPhones among senior government personnel. The publication of the study resulted in a decline in the value of Apple’s shares, leading to the stock experiencing its most significant daily decrease within a one-month period.

China serves as the primary overseas market for the company’s products, with Chinese sales accounting for around 20% of the company’s overall revenue in the previous fiscal year. To date, Apple has ignored repeated requests for comment.

The company does not publicly disclose the precise breakdown of iPhone sales by country. However, experts from TechInsights, a research organization, have approximated that the number of iPhone sales in China during the last quarter surpassed those in the United States. The bulk of iPhones manufactured by Apple are produced in factories located in China.
