Ford unveils an 800 horsepower Mustang that costs $300,000.

During the 2000s, Ford manufactured two contemporary iterations of the Ford GT, both of which have attained significant collectability. In this instance, Ford adhered to the conventional design of the Mustang, including a supercharged 5.2-liter V8 engine positioned at the front of the vehicle, rather than at the rear as seen in the GT variants. The removal of the back seats was primarily motivated by the objective of reducing the overall weight. The area typically designated for a trunk is repurposed to accommodate a specialized cooler designed for the gear box, as well as the machinery required for the advanced adjustable suspension system.

According to Baumbick, extensive mechanical and engineering design efforts were undertaken to achieve the desired front-to-rear weight distribution of the automobile, which is considered optimal for cornering. As an example, the automobile’s eight-speed transmission is located at the rear end.

All vehicles will commence manufacturing at the identical Flat Rock, Michigan facility, where all other two-door Mustang models are currently assembled. At a certain juncture, however, the incompletely assembled automobiles will be sent to the manufacturing facilities of a corporation known as Multimatic, located in Markham, Ontario, Canada. Multimatic is an automobile firm with specialized expertise in various aspects of the automotive industry, including its involvement in the development and maintenance of the Mustang GT3 race vehicle.
