Greensboro Resident Becomes Maryland Millionaire

Maryland, (Qnnflash) – Last night’s Powerball jackpot of $1 billion was won by a lucky Californian. However, another person in Greensboro, Maryland, also had reason to celebrate as they became a millionaire. The Maryland Lottery and Gaming Commission reported that a $1 million ticket was sold at the Greensboro Quick Shop in Caroline County on July 19th.

In addition to the Greensboro winner, Maryland had a total of 98,557 winning tickets on Wednesday, with prize payouts ranging from $4 to $1 million. Another million-dollar winning ticket was sold in Clarksville, Maryland.

Winners have 182 days to claim their prizes, and prizes exceeding $25,000 in Maryland must be redeemed by mail or at the Lottery headquarters in Montgomery Park Business Center at 1800 Washington Blvd., Suite 330 in Baltimore.

The Greensboro Quick Shop, where the $1 million ticket was sold, will receive a $2,500 bonus from the Lottery as a reward for selling the winning ticket.

The odds of winning the $1 billion jackpot were approximately 1 in 292 million, making the Californian winner’s achievement all the more remarkable.
