The inaugural Maryland Italian Festival, scheduled from September 29 to October 1, has unveiled its anticipated schedule, accompanied by the exciting news of Galbani Cheese taking on the role of the event’s title sponsor. The festival, organized by the Society of Italian American Businessmen, aims to be the largest Italian festival in Maryland, uniting a community and celebrating Italian culture while contributing to charitable causes.

Hosted by the Society of Italian American Businessmen, a Maryland-based organization dedicated to supporting educational, family, and mental health services, the Maryland Italian Festival will grace the Harford County Equestrian Center in Bel Air with its presence. Notably, the event is slated to be the largest Italian festival in the state. The festival promises a vibrant array of entertainment, ranging from live music and cooking demonstrations to a bocce tournament, creating a lively atmosphere for attendees to enjoy.

Galbani Cheese’s involvement as the title sponsor adds a touch of authenticity to the festival. The renowned Italian cheese producer is passionate about sharing the richness of Italian cheeses with the world, and through this partnership, they aim to bring the authentic flavors and traditions of Italy to Maryland. Jessica Ruth, Galbani’s Event Marketing Manager, expressed her excitement about collaborating with the Society of Italian American Businessmen, highlighting the significance of celebrating Italian heritage through such events.

The festival’s activities are meticulously planned to ensure that attendees have a memorable and enjoyable experience. A wide range of offerings awaits visitors, including Italian food and retail vendors, carnival rides, midway games, and a piazza serving wine, beer, and liquor. The festival’s appeal extends to participants of all ages, with entertainment options ranging from national and regional performances to a bocce tournament and Special Olympics events.

By coinciding with National Italian-American Heritage Month, the Maryland Italian Festival also aligns with the Society of Italian American Businessmen’s 10th anniversary and Harford County’s 250th-anniversary celebration. These synchronicities amplify the significance of the festival, creating an atmosphere of commemoration and cultural appreciation.

The festival’s entertainment schedule is packed with diverse performances, catering to a range of preferences. Musical acts like Sounds of Italy, Louis & JoAnn & The Uptown Band, and Ray Massa’s Eurorhythms are set to captivate the audience with their talent and energy. Culinary enthusiasts can indulge in the La Cucina Galbani Cooking Stage, featuring a lineup of skilled chefs and culinary seminars. Spasso Wine Seminars, celebrity chef cooking demos by Marco Sciortino, and presentations by esteemed names in the culinary world ensure a delightful experience for food enthusiasts.

With the support of Galbani Cheese and a well-crafted schedule, the Maryland Italian Festival promises a vibrant celebration of Italian culture, entertainment, and cuisine. It provides a unique opportunity for attendees to immerse themselves in the richness of Italian heritage while enjoying a variety of engaging activities and performances. As the festival marks the beginning of National Italian-American Heritage Month, it serves as a testament to the enduring impact of cultural celebrations in fostering community spirit and appreciation.
