Messi scores twice, his third straight game with a goal, as Inter Miami beats Orlando City 3-1

Violent, (Qnnflash) – Lionel Messi continues to dazzle with his goal-scoring prowess while adapting to his new team, Inter Miami. In a 3-1 victory over Orlando City, Messi scored in his third consecutive game and secured his second consecutive multi-goal performance.

Inter Miami coach Tata Martino praised Messi’s impact on the team, saying, “With him, the most difficult things have become easier. We are talking about a player that at the highest level of competition scores 40 goals a season.”

Messi’s first goal came just seven minutes into the match, displaying his finesse as he eluded the Orlando City backline to convert a shot under the crossbar. He struck again in the 72nd minute, receiving a centering pass from Josef Martinez and expertly flicking a right-footed shot inside the left post.

The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner has been on a scoring spree since his much-anticipated MLS debut on July 21, now tallying five goals in three games.

The victory propels Inter Miami to the tournament Round of 16 against Dallas FC. Despite a scare early in the second half when Messi collided with Orlando’s Mauricio Pereyra, he continued to showcase his skills, demonstrating his commitment to compete and win with his new team.

The game faced a delayed start due to storms, but Messi and his teammates persevered through the weather conditions. Messi’s former Barcelona teammate Jordi Alba also made his Inter Miami debut during the match.

Despite the inclement weather, Messi has been shining in his first two Leagues Cup matches for the MLS club, contributing crucial goals in their victories over Cruz Azul and Atlanta United. As Messi continues to adapt and thrive in his new environment, Inter Miami is undoubtedly benefitting from the presence of one of the world’s greatest players.
