New Mexican Restaurant ‘Baja Tap’ to Open in Fells Point: Launch Date Set

New Mexican Restaurant 'Baja Tap' to Open in Fells Point: Launch Date Set

Exciting news for food enthusiasts in Fells Point, as the eagerly awaited Mexican restaurant ‘Baja Tap’ is preparing to open its doors on September 15. The restaurant will be situated at 901 S. Bond St., taking over the former Bond Street Social space. The announcement came on Thursday after the owners received approval for a liquor license from the Baltimore City liquor board.

‘Baja Tap’ is the brainchild of the Wave Group, a successful restaurant partnership known for their culinary ventures in Virginia and D.C. The new Fells Point location will be their second venture under the Baja Tap brand, following the successful launch of the concept in D.C.’s Adams Morgan neighborhood back in March 2023. The D.C. location garnered popularity for its inviting rooftop bar, spacious patio, and an extensive menu featuring delectable Mexican cuisine.

Heading the culinary team at ‘Baja Tap’ is Greg Lloyd, formerly the head chef at Le Diplomate, along with the expertise of restaurateur Scott Parker from the D.C. area. Their combined vision promises a unique and delightful dining experience for locals and visitors alike.

The Wave Group unveiled their plans to fill the vacant space in January, right after Bond Street Social’s departure in early 2022. Although initially aiming for an August opening, they have fine-tuned their preparations and set the official launch date for September 15.

With the Mexican restaurant scene set to flourish in Fells Point, ‘Baja Tap’ is all set to offer a vibrant and flavorsome addition to the neighborhood’s culinary landscape. Mark your calendars for September 15, as Baja Tap invites you to indulge in a fusion of Mexican flavors and an enjoyable dining ambiance.
