Neymar Jr. surpasses Pelé’s record for all-time goals scored for Brazil.

(Qnnflash) — In the recent match against Bolivia, Neymar Jr. exhibited exceptional performance by scoring two goals, contributing significantly to Brazil’s resounding 5-1 triumph. This achievement has propelled Neymar Jr. to overtake the legendary Pelé as the highest-scoring male player in the history of Brazilian football.

The individual, aged 31, failed to convert a penalty during the initial period of the World Cup qualifying match. However, they afterwards rebounded by scoring two goals in the 61st and 93rd minutes, increasing their total count of international goals to 79.

According to Reuters, Neymar, who has accumulated 125 appearances for the Brazilian national team, expressed his astonishment at achieving this record.

I would like to assert that I do not consider myself a superior player in comparison to Pelé. I have long harbored the aspiration to craft a narrative of my own, etching my name indelibly within the annals of Brazilian football and the esteemed realm of the national team. Furthermore, on the present day, I have successfully accomplished the aforementioned task.

Pelé is widely acknowledged as one of the preeminent figures in the realm of sports, having achieved remarkable success by scoring a total of 77 goals for the Brazilian national team. Notably, he stands alone as the sole player in history to have secured victory in three separate editions of the FIFA World Cup. The individual passed away in the month of December at the age of 82.

Neymar has recently made a transfer to Al-Hilal, a club in the Saudi Pro League, departing from his previous team, Paris Saint-Germain, which had achieved the title of French Ligue 1 champions. In 2017, with his transfer from Barcelona to the Parisian club, he attained the distinction of being the most costly football player globally.
