SpaceX launches 15 Starlink satellites to orbit, lands rocket at sea

A SpaceX Bird of prey 9 rocket sent off 15 Starlink satellites toward circle early Thursday (July 20) and returned for an arrival on a boat adrift.

The Hawk 9 took off from California’s hazy Vandenberg Space Power Base on Thursday at 12:09 a.m. EDT (0409 GMT; 9:09 p.m. on July 19 nearby California time) following a one-day delay.

The send off was initially planned to happen early Wednesday (July 19), however SpaceX cut short that attempt with five seconds left in the commencement subsequent to getting a caution from the rocket’s upper stage.
