Road Rage Incident on Interstate 64 Leads to Arrest in Virginia

Virginia State Police apprehended a 58-year-old man following a road rage incident on Interstate 64. The incident, which took place on Sunday, September 10th, involved a female victim who reported that the suspect pointed a firearm at her.

The altercation occurred around 10:45 a.m. when the victim was attempting to merge onto I-64 East in Newport News. Another vehicle, identified as a 2011 Chevrolet Camaro, was also merging onto the interstate, resulting in a verbal exchange between the two drivers.

According to law enforcement officials, the driver of the Camaro, later identified as Eugene Timothy Trujillo, escalated the situation by pulling up alongside the victim and allegedly brandishing a firearm. The victim captured the incident on video as it unfolded.

Following the confrontation, Trujillo left the scene, while the victim pulled over and encountered a Virginia State Police trooper parked in the median crossover. She promptly reported the incident to the trooper, initiating an investigation into the matter.

As a result of the investigation, Trujillo was identified and subsequently arrested. He has been charged with multiple offenses, including brandishing a firearm, reckless driving, assault, and reckless driving involving a firearm. Trujillo is currently being held without bond, and additional charges may be pending as the investigation continues.
