Washington holds firm in latest AP Top 25 poll after 2-0 start

The Washington Huskies continue to make their presence known in college football as they secure the No. 8 spot in the latest AP Top 25 poll. With a flawless 2-0 record, Coach Kalen DeBoer’s team is leaving a strong mark on the 2023 season.

In their recent game against Tulsa, the Huskies triumphed with a commanding 43-10 victory, showcasing their offensive prowess. This marks the second consecutive game in which they have scored 40 or more points, and it’s the eighth time they have achieved this feat in the 15 games since DeBoer took over the coaching reins.

Quarterback Michael Penix Jr. has been a standout performer in the opening games of the season. In the Tulsa matchup, Penix delivered a stellar performance, completing 28 of 38 pass attempts for 409 yards and three touchdowns. This impressive display followed his remarkable performance in the previous game against Boise State, where he threw for 450 yards and tied his career-high with five touchdowns.
